Ravi Zacharias, an amazing human being, prolific speaker, unmatched apologist, poet, and defender of our faith in Jesus, lived a rich and full life. His obituary is one that exemplifies a life well-lived. He was born on March 26, 1946 and returned to heaven on May 19, 2020.

May we learn from his life to live for Jesus like never before and make every single day count. May we leave a legacy so strong that our children and grandchildren will also follow. You can watch his last sermon at our church in 2017 here. Each time Ravi preached at our church, he always shared a poem. In honor of his life, amazing legacy, and his message to live our life on purpose, I wrote and dedicate this poem to Ravi.

Life is But a Mist
By Dina Lima

Life is but a mist
I must make each day count
Though some days not so sweet
I must continue on

Life is but a mist
An ocean wave in constant move
Eternal, tender, meek
‘Til we’re back in our Father’s Room

Life is but a mist
It’s here today and gone tomorrow
Yet its memories run so deep
In a path others will follow

Life is but a mist
So short and not so long
From God a precious gift
A short time to belong

Honor, majesty, glory
Its essence we ought not miss
We must live a worthy story
Because life is but a mist
